Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A heated controversy unfolded at Jadavpur University as students clashed over the live streaming of the Ayodhya event. Tensions ran high as students gathered in the green zone, with one faction supporting the screening, chanting slogans of "Ram-Ram," while students from leftist organizations opposed, expressing "Inquilab Zindabad."
The disagreement escalated into a scuffle within the campus, leading to Associate Vice Chancellor Amitabh Dutta falling ill and Security Chief Mukul Chandra Das facing the brunt of the conflict. Today, students advocating for the screening assembled again in the green zone, attempting to proceed with the live streaming in support of the Ayodhya event. This move prompted further confrontation with leftist student organizations, who alleged that the pro-screening students belonged to ABVP. In response, the accused students denied any political affiliation, asserting their status as Jadavpur University students without ties to any political organization.
